Thirty Days of Thankfulness - Day 21

They are an awesome group!  They are smart, funny, inquisitive, and full of potential.  They are hardworking and eager to please.  They are full of energy.

They have been together for years, except for one who is new, and she fits right in.

They have parents who are teachers, health care workers, stay-at-home moms, and social workers.  Some have more than enough, some struggle to make it all work.

They wear uniforms, but add their own unique style.

They love to play games, but hate to lose.

They love Bible, History, and Science.  If you ask them, lunch and P.E. are their favorites.  But they grumble and groan like the Israelites we are learning about when it comes time for Language or Penmanship.

They are tough on each other, but stand together like a mighty army when outside forces come against any of them.

They laugh at one another.  They encourage one another.  They are jealous of each other.  They will go out of their way to help one another out.

We have been through two fractured wrists, one broken finger, and a possible fractured foot...and that's just the first half of the year!  I might just need to bubble wrap everything in sight for the second semester!

They are singers, musicians, actors and actresses, artists, scientists, educators, athletes, Bible scholars, builders, dancers and clowns.

And I am the blessed one who gets to spend every school day with them...makes me smile just thinking about it!  Today, I am VERY thankful for my job, which allows me to spend my days with this great group of kids.  A group that God has sewn together like a patchwork quilt.  Each block  extremely unique and special in its own way, but, working all together...a fifth grade "family"... a masterpiece!

And I am thankful!
